Volume 14 is a game changer. For starters, we have Kei being seen as a leader by the others in the group, much to Izumi’s frustration. More importantly, though, we get a glimpse into Kei’s past and learn about his brother, which leads to a reveal of something about the Gantz world. Sure, this creates new questions, but in a way that will move the story forward.
I see this going in a direction where it will be hard to tell who is good and who is bad. This looks like the beginning of a collision course between Kei and his brother, which I can guess will lead us to many revelations of the Gantz world. In the middle of all this, we have Izumi and the fact that the people now in the Gantz were his victims. I can't wait for them to find out.
So, if the Vampires can see the Gantz people during the games does that mean they see the aliens too? Are the aliens connected to the vampires? Or are there many factions? There are too many questions right now for me to even write more about it. I would say it's getting good, but it's been good from the start.
Meanwhile, this week a new Batman miniseries begins. With so many Bat books, why is this exciting? Because Gates of Gotham is written by Scott Snyder, who has been making Detective Comics the best of the Batbooks right now. I don't know much about this series other than Batman rounds up all the best detectives to solve a case. Already, this can't go wrong.
